Department of Public Works and Urban Development

The Economic Development Office's major responsibility is to plan, direct and implement economic development activities within the City of Plainfield. This office provides technical assistance to developers and business owners located or intending to locate in the City of Plainfield.

The Office of Economic Development also administers the City's Enterprise Zone Program.

Ready for Purchase

The Monarch is a mixed used development which will include 63 residential units with the ground floor providing the City of Plainfield with a state of the art senior citizen center and veterans meeting space. The Monarch demonstrates how a public/private partnership can benefit the residents of Plainfield. Under the developer’s agreement the construction of the senior center/ veteran meeting space was done without cost to the taxpayers.
