The Division of Inspections provides inspection services for the following:
PROPERTY MAINTENANCE/CODE ENFORCEMENT
The Division is responsible for enforcing the Plainfield Property Maintenance Code
For questions or complaints regarding Property Maintenance, call (908) 753-3386.
Inspections also respond to heat emergencies (heating requirements). To report heat emergencies please contact your landlord, or individual responsible for property management. If no results are made, please call the office during regular business hours (8:30 am to 4:30 pm) Monday thru Friday.
BUILDING DEPARTMENT
The Division is also responsible for enforcing the State Uniform Construction Code (sub-codes: building, plumbing, electrical and fire protection) and issuance of construction permits and certificate’s of occupancy. For all questions relating to building permits, please call (908) 226-2665, between the hours of 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
